Results Day triumph at EKC Ashford College

14 August 2025
Celebrating Level 3 Results Day success at EKC Ashford College.

An air of nervous excitement filled the College today, as students came to collect their long-awaited Level 3 results.

Results Day is a proud moment for the College, as we celebrate the achievements of our students completing T Level programmes and other Level 3 qualifications.

For many learners, they are already looking forward to their future and are now taking their next step into a world they’ve planned for throughout their College journey.

We caught up with some of our students to congratulate them on their success and to find out where they are heading next.

Bryony, a standout Level 3 Art and Design student received a Distinction.

Bryony shared their excitement, stating: “I’m really appreciative of all the support I’ve received from EKC Ashford College over the years. I started on the Level 1 and worked through all of the grades, and I’m really proud of myself.

“Before coming to College I struggled a lot of with mental health and was in 24/7 care, but with the support and routine College gave me, I’m now looking forward to living independently and doing what I’ve always wanted.”

Bryony’s advice to new students is: “just do it, regardless of how nervous or unsure you are.

“And if you require any additional support or help, make sure you get the ball rolling before you start. If you’re organised and things are put in place before you start the course, it’ll make things a lot easier and smoother for the year.”

Bryony is looking forward to continuing her journey towards becoming an Art Therapist at the University for the Creative Arts, where she can continue to explore and experiment with different art forms.

Amongst those celebrating was, Max, who just completed a T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development. He expressed his joy and excitement about what is next for him: “I knew I didn’t want to go to university, but I wanted to get skills instead. I liked IT and wanted to focus on one subject, rather than doing A Levels.

“I did my work placement within Ashford Council. The work experience gave me the opportunity to gain a career in IT.”

They also commented: “The balance of College life and work experience has been great. There’s a good community at the College too.”

Emma and Christie (pictured left and middle) are both set to continue their academic journeys at university.

Emma is headed to Canterbury Christ Church University to study Mental Health Nursing; whilst Christie hopes to pursue a career in primary teaching, completing a degree in Primary Education (with QTS) at the University of Sussex.

Christie told us: “My T Level was great, I particularly enjoyed getting real-world experience on placement at Ashford Oaks Primary School.

“I’m really looking forward to university and getting one step closer to becoming a primary school teacher.

“I’d advise other students to choose their placements wisely. Think about what you want to do in the future and make sure your placement accommodates that, so that you learn the skills you’ll need moving forward.” Whist Emma added: “I’d tell other students to make sure they use all resources and people available to them. If you need any support or have any questions, always ask!”

Although university isn’t for everyone. Kacper, who achieved a Merit in T Level Business Management and Administration, plans to head straight into the industry.

He told us: “I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next. I’m hoping to go into a retail job and work my way up. I would love to also dabble in a little bit of entrepreneurship, either working in media or fashion.”

Adult learner, Andrew, has also seen success, achieving a Distinction in Level 3 Creative Media. Andrew is off to the Bath Spa University to study Sports Media Production.

Andrew told us of his journey back into education, saying: “I chose the course at EKC Ashford College after being in a job in IT For six years. I wanted a new change and decided to study Level 3 Creative Media.”

He continued: “College has prepared me as I had worked for six years so I knew how a workplace operated, but now I’ve also learnt about university and been elevated to things I wanted to do. College has Unlocked a different door.”

T Level Digital Production, Design and Development learner, Finley, has secured places both Loughborough University or Cardiff University and is now deciding which he’d like to accept.

Reflecting on his time at College, Finley noted: “I’ve gained more experience from College and I’ve also got work experience for a job in the future. My favourite thing about College has definitely been the freedom.”

Rhys has achieved the grades needed for his University of Portsmouth offer to study Digital Marketing. He spoke to us about his decision to study at College, commenting: “I chose to come to College as it gave me a sense of direction. The course helped me figure out what I wanted to do as I was unsure beforehand”.

He added: “I went on a trip to the University of Kent, that really opened my mind to the future. My teacher, Matthew Brookes, really helped me make decisions about my future.

It wasn’t only student who have completed their studies who collected results today, Year One T Level students also received final grades for their first year. We caught up with a few T Level in Education and Early Years students who were all thrilled to have passed their first year.

Amongst them was Emily, who told us: “”I chose this course as I’d previously worked with older adults in the Health and Social sector. I wanted a change and wanted to work with younger people.

“College has prepared me as it has helped me grow as a person. I’ve made lots of friends and connections. I’ve been able to find what my passions are and explored so many different careers. I’ve really enjoyed my placement!”

Whilst Bella commented: “I’m really looking forward to getting back to College in September and getting back into my placement – I miss seeing the children! I’m also really looking forward to covering first aid during second year, as I think that’ll really help during my time at placement too.

“The T Level has been really interesting so far, I’d definitely recommend it. I’d also tell other potential students to just enjoy it. Time goes by quickly, so make the most of all opportunities and enjoy them all.”

Taylor added: “If I were to give anyone any advice it’d say it may be obvious but listen and pay attention! There’s a lot of content so it’s easy to miss important things if you’re distracted or not paying attention.”

We would like to congratulate all our students on their fantastic achievements and wish them every success for the future.
