This course is designed for creatives who want to step behind the camera and
shape stories for film, television and digital platforms. You’ll experience the
full production process – from planning and shooting to editing and visual
effects – in our brand-new, fully equipped Film Studio, featuring a Blackmagic
Pyxis 6K cinema camera, a fleet of Panasonic Lumix cameras, and an extensive
range of specialist lenses and lights to support every style of filmmaking or
camera-based activity. Whether you’re aiming to improve your cameras skills, go
to film school, start a freelance business or simply want to build a strong
creative portfolio, this course gives you the practical skills and confidence to
bring your ideas to life.

Course information


Across the year, you’ll explore a range of filmmaking and media production
skills, including:




  • Cinematography and Camera Operation – Learn to shoot confidently using
    mirrorless cameras

  • Photography and Visual Storytelling – Understand composition, lighting,
    framing and narrative through imagery.

  • Lighting – Work with studio lights, location lighting and creative setups
    for mood and tone.

  • Editing and Post-Production – Develop skills in Adobe Premiere Pro DaVinci
    and After Effects.

  • Sound Recording and Design – Capture clean location or studio audio and
    create soundscapes that elevate your work.

  • Directing and Production Roles – Experience working as part of a film crew
    with clear responsibilities and workflows.

  • Visual Effects – Explore compositing, greenscreen and digital
    effects.

  • Practical Effects and Set Design – Explore hands-on filmmaking techniques
    including prop creation, practical effects makeup, miniature work, lighting
    setups and set dressing. Learn how environments, physical effects and
    production design can enhance storytelling, atmosphere and visual realism both
    in the studio and on location.

  • Broadcast Media Skills – Develop skills for content creation, interviews,
    live-event coverage and digital platforms.

Your projects will include short films, creative experiments, music videos,
documentary work, promotional content, film challenges and studio-led
productions.
