On this course, you will gain a strong introduction to the health and social care sector, focusing on the person-centred values and approaches required to work with individuals in care settings.
You will study:
- Human lifespan development, exploring how people grow and develop from birth through to later adulthood
- Meeting individual care and support needs, where you will learn how to support individuals in a way that respects their needs, preferences and wellbeing
You will develop essential employability and transferable skills, including, critical thinking and problem-solving, effective communication and teamwork and independent learning and research skills.
After learning about health and social care you will be able to go into a work placement. There you will be providing support and services, either in a team or individually, to individuals who have physical, mental, or social needs. Our dedicated Industry Liaison Officers will match you with a placement that supports your interests and career goals, with many students going on to secure paid work as a result.
