At EKC Ashford College, our 12-week Introduction to Music Production course is designed for adults aged 19+ who want to build practical skills and confidence in music production.

Throughout the course, you’ll gain a solid understanding of the recording process and develop hands-on experience using industry-standard equipment and software. You’ll learn how to work confidently in both home and professional studio environments. 

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to: 

  1. Apply audio editing techniques in a studio setting 
  1. Use microphones professionally, including placement, selection and stereo techniques 
  1. Run a recording session and manage multiple audio tracks 
  1. Understand the basics of mixing and mastering 
  1. Identify and solve common recording issues

The course focuses on Logic Pro X, a powerful and accessible music production programme used widely across the industry. You’ll learn how to create, record, edit, mix and master your own music projects using professional tools designed for musicians and producers.

You’ll be taught by an experienced industry professional with a background in both studio recording and live sound. With small group sessions and plenty of practical time, you’ll receive personalised guidance, feedback and support as you develop your skills.
