What inspired you to pursue Accounting and continue to Level 3?
I started my journey in Accounting at Level 1 and worked my way up, passing Level 2 with distinction. Beginning Level 3 in September was both exciting and a bit daunting, as my lecturer warned us that this level would be tougher.
However, I was also relieved because the teaching style is so much better than what I experienced at other institutions. Here, it’s more focused on your own individual progress, with 1-1 support available if you need it and check-in’s during each module.
It’s been a challenging but rewarding journey, and I’m determined to achieve good results, pass my exams, and secure a promising job in the accounting field.
How does studying at Ashford compare to your previous education experiences?
Before coming to College, I studied Accounting elsewhere, but the courses were incredibly difficult because of the lack of guidance when it came to what you knew and what your next steps could be. When I started AAT here in Ashford, the difference was remarkable. We’ve got access to the AAT website and all their resources, like videos and scenarios, so that learning is much more engaging and accessible. I never expected this level of quality when it came to education.
The teaching style here has been a game-changer for me. My lecturer always ensures we’re equipped with everything we need to succeed.
What role has your lecturer played in your success?
Amin has been instrumental in my progress. His dedication to helping students sets him apart from other teachers I’ve had in the past. He doesn’t just deliver lessons – he takes the time to explain difficult concepts and checks in on our understanding.
Amin has made a huge impact. He assigns homework and reviews it thoroughly, making sure we’re on the right track so I can move on to the next topic with confidence. His approach has been a key factor in my ability to pass every unit so far.

How has EKC Ashford College helped you overcome challenges?
Studying Level 1 was a surprising and positive experience. Before joining the College, I struggled to feel supported. Here, the overall backing from the staff and teachers has made all the difference. If I had access to this level of guidance in my earlier education, I would have achieved so much more.
How has the learning process changed your perspective on education?
Studying here has given me a new appreciation for education. I’ve worked incredibly hard, but having the right guidance has made my efforts far more effective. The difference at EKC Ashford College is not just about teaching but about the overall environment.
The staff and teachers are always ready to help, no matter the challenge. If you’re confused about a topic or unsure about your next step, they provide every bit of support you need. That’s something I’ve never experienced anywhere else.
What’s next for you?
My goal is to continue building my skills and knowledge. I hope to find a job in accounting soon, not only to put my qualifications to use but also to gain practical, real-world experience. From there, I aim to progress to AAT Level 4 and complete the full course.
I hope to take everything I’ve learned and use it to build a successful career in accounting. This experience has shown me that with the right resources and support, it’s never too late to achieve your goals.
